I'll inflict poor Charlie on the list too!" If the Cthulhu adventure I described the other day represents one extreme of my campaign, then this droid certainly represents the other. I didn't bother to bring the stats up to 2nd Edition standards so there are some house-rules skills below. I've noted the more unusual ones. Set phasers on fun... Mark H --------- Charlie (CH-X1) Type: Nominal Protocol Droid Height: 5'4" Species: 100% Droid, baby Sex: n/a DEX 1D PER 1D Dodge 4D+1 Lip Reading 3D Grenade 3D+1 KNO 3D STR 1D Bureaucracy 4D Forgery 4D+2 Naval Architecture 4D Recon 6D MEC 1D TEC 1D Repulsorlift Ops 6D Computer/Droid Prog. 4D+2 Computer Repair 2D Droid Repair 4D Starship Engineering/Repair 6D Technology 7D Vehicle Repair 6D Weird Science 3D Skill notes: Naval Architecture - analogous to the Advanced Skill, Starship Design Recon - Replaces the PER skill Search Technology - a skill from the first edition Weird Science - a skill from the WEG's Torg game, used for wild, logic defying inventions such as flight rings, invisibility belts and spray-on hair Equipped with: - Computer Uplink - Duralloy shell and reinforced skeletal frame (+2D on STR rolls vs damage) - Comlink - Buzz Saw - Arc Welder - Radar Scanner (+1D Recon) - Bowling Arm (+1D on bowling attempts using Grenade skill) - Repulsor-Peg Leg - Soundtrack (includes state of the art holographic speakers and a database of several million pieces of music which are subconsciously selected according to Charlie's perceptions of events around him, typical selections include Warner Bros. cartoon music, Japanese bubblegum pop and polka waltzes. -1D on all Sneak attempts.) Move: 7 (due to repulsor-peg leg) Equipment: Bag of tools, 2 smoke grenades, 2 tangler grenades, ersatz thermal detonator, magnetic boots, plastic Imperial pilot's wings, pirate hat, patch, stuffed parrot and plastic scimitar, disabled restraining bolt. Background: Charlie's background is something of a mystery. He believes he was built by a crazy/brilliant blue collar mechanic as an assistant and buddy. The builder's name is also Charlie and may have been killed in an attack by the Empire. The appearance of at least two other similar droids (Charleton the Bounty Hunter, Chuck the 3 foot tall engineer) has made Charlie doubt the veracity of some of his memories. Personality: Charlie is affable, simple in regards to everything but technology. He is imperturbable and has little sense for self-preservation or keeping out of trouble. Charlie absolutely cannot tell a lie. It's not for lack of trying however. Description: Charlie is a short, corroding, pot-bellied, custom-made piece of junk. It's unclear whether he was originally a sickly green color or has simply tarnished. He has a beanie prop on his head. Charlie's habit of needing replacement limbs currently leaves him with a neon purple bowling arm and a repulsor-peg leg. A Quote: "In one chip, out the other." Charlie is played by my pal Shelley Bolman.
