Not in the DESB. Says nothing about evolving on page 60-61. The Graphic Novel--is that the compilation of the Dark Empitre 1 comics? I have those. Not there either. The Holocron, at its simplist level, "...is a primitive hologram recorder, storing information and playing it back as a sort of library." It is "constructed of ancient gemstones". Only Force Users (+/-) "can summon the power of the Holocron". Thus is is an artifical device that can scan beings for Force Sensitivity, including to which side the being tends. We now have two (2) *devices* which can do this. Two technologies, which may/may not be linked. Therefore, putting a similar device in a Droid would make a Hell of a lot of sense. The Holocron was constucted to record holographic lectures, scan users of the Holocron for Force sensitity, and playback the holographics in an interactive way. It is much like an Interactive CD-ROM that we have today ('cept it scans the user, and possible a little more advanced. Concept is exacly the same, in principal). > Also, we do not know that the entechment procedure allows a person with > Force skills to continue practicing those skills when enteched. They wanted to entech Luke so he could use the Force to entech others at a distance. This was made very obvious. This was the whole point of them wanting Luke versus the other Joe-shmo-humans that were around. They wanted to Entech a *strong* Force user, and use/direct his Force ability how they liked. IE they wanted to harness the Force abilties of Luke for their own use, without his personality getting in the way. Therefore, perhaps you could do a similar thing with a Droid and harness the Force abilites in a more flexible manner. > I still side with Joruus C'baoth when it comes to droids... It just > makes life that much more interesting. I hate droids too. What's that got to do with anything? Joruus C'baoth was wrong about a good many things....he was totally nuts too. I wouldn't believe anything he said. Look how he lied to Luke--probably did the same thing when talking about Droids. Interesting? How about an Enteched (concept only) Dark Jedi with one of the Emperor's Jedi Sniffer's?????!!!! Betcha that would be interesting....not to mention fatal/dangerous. So it turns out that there is a large body of evidence supporting her idea to have a Force-Using droid. We have: the Holocron Device with Force scanner and Interactive CD. We have: the attempted Entechment of Luke to harness his strong Force abilities. We have: the Emperor's Jedi Sniffer. And who knows what else??? maybe the Emperor/somebody managed to Entech (perfecting/modifying the technique to his own uses) a Jedi captured with the Sniffer. Then this Droid was supposed to go out and Sniff out other Jedi using its attenuated Force skills and a built-in Sniffer. Perfect cover. Completely malleable to whatever programs you want to controll it with. But something went wrong...three prototypes escaped after going berserk in the test labs. They (1-3) managed to escape off surface and went their separate ways, trying to fit in as regular Protocol Droids. One (the PC), has very weak Force abilities and the entechment has erased most of the original personality. Although snippits do remain... He/she has tried to integrate into galactic society as best he/she can and almost believes that he/she is really a protocol droid. However, that was before he/she met the other two Droids...(which, of course, are crazy/berserk/manical serial killers/assasins etc). Not to mention that the Emperor has his minions out looking for the poor Prototype Droid...including the new and improved Force Droids!!!! There. Andrew.
