None are play tested and if you use them in your campaign, please let me know what you adjusted and why. I reserve no copyrights on this material so abuse it as you will. Comlinks Note for the sake of game-play, Sky is 1 km to 100 km above sea-level. RCA-1 ===== RCA-1s are standard helmet mounted or hand-held com units. Hand held units are built into small duraplastic cylinders. Scale: Personal Range: 5 km ground, 50 km sky, 5000 km space Decode Bonus: None Cost: 50 RCA-2 ===== RCA-2s are small belt mounted units (about 20 cm x 10 cm x 2 cm) with a wireless mike in a head set or a small duraplastic cylinder. Scale: Personal Range: 10 km ground, 100 km sky, 10,000 km space Decode Bonus: None Cost: 75 RCA-3 ===== RCA-3s are hand held and are usually kept in a protective shoulder bag (about 50 cm x 30 cm x 3 cm) with a wireless mike in a head set or a small duraplastic cylinder Scale: Personal Range: 20 km ground, 200 km sky, 20,000 km space Decode Bonus: None Cost: 200 RCA-4 ===== RCA-4s are mounted in a front breast plate or armoured backpack (about 200 cm x 70 cm x 6 cm)with a wireless mike in a head set or a small duraplastic cylinder. RCA-4s are the lowest level personal comlink that can uplink with ships or satellites in low orbit. Scale: Personal Range: 40 km ground, 400 km sky, 40,000 km space Decode Bonus: +1 Cost: 400 RCA-5 ===== RCA-5s are mounted in a armoured back pack (about 300 cm x 100 cm x 10 cm) with a mike running to a wireless mike in a head set or a small duraplastic cylinder. RCA-5s are the lowest level personal comlink that can uplink with ships or satellites in geosynchronous orbit. Scale: Personal Range: 80 km ground, 800 km sky, 80,000 km space Decode Bonus: +1 Cost: 600 RCB-1 ===== RCB-1s are base station or vehicle mounted units. Scale: Base Range: 200 km ground, 2000 km sky, 200,000 km space Decode Bonus: 0 Cost: 1000 RCB-2 ===== RCB-2s are larger, more advanced base station or vehicle mounted units. Scale: Base Range: 400 km ground, 4000 km sky, 400,000 km space Decode Bonus: +1 Cost: 2000 RCC-1 ===== RCC-1s are mounted in starships or major installations Scale: Starship Range: 800 km ground, 8000 km sky, 800,000 km space Decode Bonus: 0 Cost: 10,000 RCC-2 ===== RCC-2s are mounted in starships or major installations. They can broadcast on subspace frequencies to other Com units with subspace capabilities. When broadcasting to Com units without subspace, they are limited by their rated space range. Scale: Starship Range: 1600 km ground, 16, 000 km sky, 1,600,000 km space, 15 LY subspace Decode Bonus: +1 Cost: 20,000 RCC-3 ===== RCC-3s are mounted in starships or major installations. They can broadcast on subspace frequencies to other Com units with subspace capabilities. When broadcasting to Com units without subspace, they are limited by their rated space range. Scale: Starship Range: 5000 km ground, 50,000 km sky, 5,000,000 km space, 25 LY subspace Decode Bonus: +1 Cost: 30,000 RCC-4 ===== RCC-4s are mounted in starships or major installations. They can broadcast on subspace frequencies to other Com units with subspace capabilities. When broadcasting to Com units without subspace, they are limited by their rated space range. Scale: Starship Range: 10,000 km ground, 100,000 km sky, 10,000,000 km space, 50 LY subspace Decode Bonus: +2 Cost: 30,000 RCC-5 ===== RCC-5s are mounted in starships or major installations. They can broadcast on subspace frequencies to other Com units with subspace capabilities. When broadcasting to Com units without subspace, they are limited by their rated space range. Scale: Starship Range: 20,000 km ground, 200,000 km sky, 20,000,000 km space, 100 LY subspace Decode Bonus: +2 Cost: 60,000 RCD-1 ===== RCD-1s are mounted in starships or major installations. They can broadcast on hyperradio. Hyperradio can broadcast to radios equipped for subspace (RCC-2 and above) at an unlimited range, however, they cannot receive return transmissions. Scale: Starship Range: Unlimited Decode Bonus: 0 Cost: 60,000 RCD-2 dual standard =================== RCD-2s are mounted in starships or major installations. They can broadcast on hyperradio. In hyperradio mode they can broadcast to radios equipped for subspace (RCC-2 and above) at an unlimited range, however, they cannot receive return transmissions. They also have sublight functionality built in. Scale: Starship Range: 50,000 km ground, 500,000 km sky, 50,000,000 km space, 300 LY subspace, unlimited hyperradio Decode Bonus: 0 Cost: 100,000 ~~~ * VbReader 2.22 #NR * Val Dodge and I are just members of a secret society
