Indeed, astr= onomers predict that within a hundred years, Crseih Station will be sucked into = the gigantic black hole that dominates the sky a mere one light year away. The station itself has been shut down long ago. Its original purpose = was to collect and transport charged atomic particles to the Empire's factories = to be used in weapons manufacturing. Now there is a dinghy resort of sorts located in = the half dozen or so domes that bulge over the surface of the station. The domes = are huge, made of transparisteel and stretching upward for hundreds meters. Most = cover less than a square kilometer in area. The airlock hisses open, and you are thrust headfirst into the throng = of people in the welcome dome. Spacers, smugglers, merchants, vendors, and outlaws= crowd the huge dome, all talking. Several booths dot the featureless gray floo= r of the welcome dome, manned by harried-looking clerks. A dozen or so policemen = roam the chamber, distinguished by their gray-and-red uniforms. There is a = faint, low hum vibrating throughout the station, and it smells of recycled air. A = security droid approaches you. Its metallic voice is raised above the din as it asks, = "Destination? Business?" When the characters answer, the droid checks their IDs and they can be = on their way. Security is fairly lax on Crseih Station; any weapons aside from large-s= cale artillery pieces are accepted. The droid directs them to one of the information = center, which are selling maps and tourist guides. The info center clerk issues them tempo= rary permits for their weapons for their stay on Crseih Station. All domes of Crseih Stat= ion are open to everyone. Dome 1 The spaceport dome, where all the ships are moored. Costs 25 credits to = land ship, 100 credits to have radiation shielding installed. If no shielding is instal= led, one onboard system fries every hour ship remains exposed. Dome 2 Welcome Dome, basically a tourist info center. Maps of the city are 5 = credits. Tourists guides are 10 credits. Numerous merchants and vendors litter this area, = hawking their wares. There are several ship parts stores, weapons stores, and clothing= /armor stores. Dome 3 The cantina dome. A place to get drinks and food. The lighting is dysfu= nctional in this dome, only four of the ten glowpanels in the ceiling are working. Search= rolls are -1D. Several gambling dens located here. Dome 4 The lodging dome. Hotels and apartments located here. Average lodging = for the night is 30 credits a room per night. Dome 5 The nature dome. A big greenhouse with several shallow pools, a fountain= , and an artificial mountain. Dome 6 The Underworld dome (or "profitable business dome", as the tourist guide = calls it). Populated by small-time crime lords and petty criminals. Crseih Station has a police force that is in force in all the domes excep= t Dome 6. The criminals bribe the police and the government to leave them alone. Crseih Station policeman: All stats 2D except blaster 4D, blaster: riot = gun 5D+2, dodge 2D+2, law enforcement 3D, streetwise 2D+2, Mechanical 3D, brawling 3D+1, = Move: 10, equipped with blaster pistol (4D), riot gun (8D), comlink, blast helm= et (+1D physical [head], +1 energy [head]). Encounter: Imperial patrol Read aloud: Through the meter-thick transparisteel of the dome, you are = surprised and shocked to see an Imperial Corvette appear out of hyperspace. It approaches the = station and within minutes launches an assault shuttle. The armored shuttle docks = with the station. A low clang reverbates through the domes. After a few tense = moments, the public address system chimes. "Attention. All occupants of all domes cease all activities and prepare= for inspection by Imperial stormtroopers. All persons please have IDs on han= d." As you watch, several stormtroopers enter the dome and begin checking the = IDs of every person. A shuttle with twenty Imperial stormtroopers shows up on a surprise inspe= ction visit. The troopers check the IDs of every person in Crseih Station. Anyone wit= hout an ID or with a questionable record is arrested and taken to the Corellian Corvett= e Pure Fury. They too avoid Dome 6, because their commanding officer has been bribed = as well. Encounter: Harassment by thugs A vending cart is set up in a clear space on the floor of the dome. A = small, heavyset Sullustan sits sourly behind the booth, staring at the various people who= walk by his cart. All manner of spacecraft parts are spread out on his cart, some = new, others ancient and crumbling. Suddenly a pair of thugs materialize from the crowd, walking purposefull= y towards the shop owner. He stands up quickly and takes a step back, trip= ping over his chair. He falls backwards just before the thugs reach him. They gra= b his shirt, yanking him up into the air. They yell, "Where's the blasters? Sij want= s to know where the #!!%$ blasters are!" The shop owner is terrified, and the Crse= ih police show no signs of interfering. As you watch, the pitiful shop owner vomit= s all over himself, then pisses in his pants. If the characters interfere and stop the thugs, the shop owner offers to = repair or modify one of their weapons or starship for free, however the characters get on = the bad side of the crime lord Insijil Laroc from dome six who sent the thugs. Sij's thugs, all stats 2D except: blaster 4D, melee combat 3D+2, intimid= ation 2D+2, dodge 2D+1, Strength 3D, brawling 4D, Move: 10, equipped with knife (STR+1D) and bla= ster pistol (4D). Encounter: Escaped Wampa Read aloud: A roar suddenly comes from across the dome. You look over = and take in an incredible sight: a massive wampa ice creature, three meters tall, is = tearing its way out of a steel cage. Fragments of the cage fly everywhere as it frees = itself. As you watch, it grabs the helpless keeper and, with one deft movement, rips out= his throat. Blood fountains up and coats the wampa, giving its fur a pinkish tint. = It rears back and charges toward the Crseih policemen who are approaching cautiously. = They panic, but the wampa slaughters them as well. It scans the dome, surroun= ded by several mangled corpses, searching for its next victim. The crowd panics and a mob of people rush for the door. This serves onl= y to agitate the wampa more, and it roars again in confusion. A wampa ice creature, part of a traveling zoo, escapes in whatever dome = the characters are in. It slaughters the policemen and several civilians. = If the characters take it down, they receive a reward of 1000 credits from the Station, and a = bounty from the zoo owner. Encounter: Bounty Hunter Have the characters make Perception checks. Anyone totaling 10 or greate= r sees a tall human discreetly following. Read aloud: The human following you is tall, and he seems to sport a fan= ciful blast vest. At one hip a heavy blaster pistol is holstered, and you can just make out the = barrel of a blaster rifle slung over his shoulder. His face is hard, with a smeared = acid burn scar covering one half of it. He swings a small, red targeting visor down ove= r his eyes. His stride is purposeful, and he unslings a sawed-off riot gun as he walk= s, aiming it directly at you. He calls out in an amplified voice, "I'm here for the = bounty." Then he opens fire. A veteran bounty hunter appears and attempts to claim the bounty on one = of the characters. Veteran bounty hunter: All stats 2D except blaster 4D+2, = dodge 4D+1, grenade 4D, melee combat 4D+2, melee parry 3D+1, streetwise 3D, survival = 2D+2, investigation 3D+1, sneak 3D+2, brawling 3D+2, Move: 10, Character Points= : 3, heavy blaster pistol (5D), blaster rifle (5D), hold out blaster (3D), riot gun = (8D), grenade (5D), knife (STR+1D) Encounter: Gambling The man looks invitingly up from his small table in the dark cantina. = He is an elderly man, perhaps sixty years old, small and kindly. His clothes are = flawless, pressed and in with galactic style. A small horseshoe-shaped table surro= unds him. He shuffles a deck of strange cards. "Sit down, gentlemen, and try a han= d at this game. It is called Emperor's Gamble. The object is to deplete your hand= of all cards except for the Emperor card." He holds up a black-bordered card bearing Palpatine's image. "These are the rules," he says, and proceeds to expla= in them to you. "Each round everyone doubles the pot, minimum bet is 50 credits. = Are you game?" The old man is actually Slick Cheezh, the infamous con artist in disguis= e. Slick Cheezh: All stats 2D except blaster 4D, dodge 3D+1, Perception 4D, Con = 5D, Persuasion 5D+2, Gambling 7D, Character Points: 7, Move: 10, Equipped = with: sabacc deck, Emperor's Gamble deck, King-ring deck, modified hold-out bla= ster (3D+2), flashy clothes. Encounter #7: Pirate Raid The cruiser is closing fast. It is obviously a stock corvette with more = than a few modifications. As the gap between you and the cruiser narrows, it opens = fire with its turbolasers, sending out sparkling green spears of destruction towards = your freighter. OR As you are gazing out of the dome, three green flashes of light appear, = one after the other, spattering on the dome. The other occupants pause and look upward= s, not outwardly alarmed. Another turbolaser blast hits the dome, causing a min= or crack in the surface. A pirate corvette appears, rounding the station and firi= ng with its turbolasers. The station's three Z-95 Headhunters are hopelessly annihil= ated. The corvette docks with the station, sending a deep clang resonating thr= ough the station. Several minutes later, a trio of hard-faced, weaponed-up = men appear at the entrance to the dome. At the sight of them, all hell breaks loose. = Everyone in the dome panics, rushing for the exit. This excites the pirates more, and = they open fire with their blaster rifles, murdering a few civilians before the crowd qui= ets down. Wordlessly they set about taking all valuables from the stunned occupants= . They work their way nearer to you, and still no one seems to do anything about= it. A pirate cruiser (stock corvette) either attacks the characters in space = or raids the station, looting and pillaging. His head tails are = thin and adorned with several alien tattoos. His long, dark robes look as if they= could hide all manner of deadly weaponry. There is a faint odor of some strange spice = about him. "I am Agorias Thek, of Thek Freightlines. Perhaps you know of me?" Thek= 's robes swish as he circles around to face you. "I have a proposition for you. = I have a stock Ghtroc freighter docked in the port dome, and it is for sale. I am willi= ng to sell it to you for a drastically reduced price. As you probably know, Ghtrocs go = for anywhere from 70,000 to 100,000 credits new. I will sell you my Ghtroc, = the Shitty Beetle, for a mere 20,000 Imperial credits. If need be, you can pay an = amount now and the rest at a later date." He pauses, looking expectantly at you. = "Uh, I am willing to negotiate. However, I must sell this ship now." He smiles th= ickly, baring his pointed teeth. "Well?" Character Name: Agorias Thek Type: Shrewd Businessman/Transport Owner Gender/Species: Male Twi'lek Age: 38 Height: 6ft Weight: 170 lbs. However, the Beetle is anything but stock. It has more tha= n a few surprises on board When they pay (in cash) he gives them whatever change they nee= d as well as the access codes for the ship. Weird Stuff on Ghtroc: One case of thermal detonators (10 to a case). Three revolutionary starfighter-scale power converters (stolen from Empir= e). Double laser cannons blow up on a wild die of 1 once fired more than twic= e in a battle, causing 3D damage to ship and 3D damage to gunner. Whenever the shields are powered up, the autochef starts spraying the kit= chen with creamed Habarian root. Whenever the characters leave on the Beetle, read aloud: As you pull out of Crseih Station and prepare to jump into hyperspace, = you see an Imperial Frigate flanked by two Corvettes bearing down on the station. = Just before you pull the levers and jump into hyperspace, the Frigate launches severa= l drop ships at the crumbling station. Then the stars flare into starlines, and= the Beetle vanishes into the depths of hyperspace. As the Shitty Beetle rockets through hyperspace, a strange rattling soun= d comes from the cargo hold. After several minutes, the sound increases. = There is a sharp clang, then a tinkling sound. Upon arrival the characters find that a hidden cargo module has sprung = open, revealing the unknown cargo. The weapons were to be smuggled for Insijil Laroc, = a crime king in this sector. However, the smuggler (the shop owner) thought he would get= a better deal if he sold the ship to Agorias Thek, which he did. Thek only recently disco= vered the cargo, and that is why he was in such a hurry to dispose of it. --885356011=_Mail_2_=1978335273--
