Its members have explored the maze of the Emperor's Wayland storehouse, and also have initiated detailed research on many other aspects of the Force. The Motesta Circle was founded on Tatooine by Devta Sharanim, believed to be from Tatooine. Devta never talks much about his past, though he will willingly explain that he was at one time a Jedi candidate who for some reason never completed his training. He considers the Circle a repayment to the Jedi destroyed by the Emperor, a society founded in their memory. After the Republic reclaimed the wrecked Coruscant, Sharanim and two of his initiates, Gallezi Captison of Bakura [Gaeri's third cousin] and Kiweck Patsaqis of Kinyen, approached Luke Skywalker about their work. Luke, sensing good reasons to trust them and a need for their work, allowed them access to numerous important items, including the Mount Tantiss installation, and they quickly became one of the key resources for all who wished to learn about the Jedi. When Luke founded the Jedi Academy on Yavin, the Circle moved operations there. Devta personally was appointed the keeper of the Jedi Holocron, an artifact that has proven infinitely useful in the day-to-day curriculum of the Academy. The Circle now claims over thirty members, nearly half of whom are enrolled in the Jedi Academy.
