The system is a Shadowrun (tm) hybrid. Each character has a wound status bar on his character sheet divided into nine blocks. It looks something like this: **[ ] unconscious *[ ] -2D-2 *[ ] -2D-1 *[ ] -2D [ ] -1D-2 [ ] -1D-1 [ ] -1D [ ] -2 [ ] -1 The number to the right of the box is subtracted from all skill and attribute rolls when the character is at that wound level. The boxes with an asterisk to the left indicate that the character must make a STAMINA check to remain conscious. The first check is easy, then moderate, then difficult. The box with two asterisks requires an easy STAMINA check to avoid outright death. Remember to subtract the appropriate penalty from the character's dice. Damage in excess of the nine boxes results in immediate death. To determine the damage done to a character use the guidelines below: Damage roll is < strength roll = 1 box (light) Damage roll = or > strength roll = 3 boxes (moderate) Damage roll 2x strength roll = 6 boxes (serious) Damage 3x strength roll = 9 boxes (deadly) I have also experimented with the rules about being stunned when hit. Light wounds never stun. Moderate wounds stun the character for the rest of the round and the character goes last in the next round. Serious wounds stun the character for the rest of the current round as well as the following round and the charcter will go last in the round after that assuming he makes his STAMINA roll to remain conscious. So far my players like the new system. They feel it gives the damage system more flexibility. I welcome your comments or questions about the system. Rick
