I have some rules for sabres. 1. you may use 2 sabres, but wouldn't want to. a. too hard b. the lightsabre is double edged. e.g. if someone pushes your sabre back, it slices you without much thrust. Luke and Vader used both hands to push at each other. if you used only one hand, then your opponet could easily slash at your saber's blade and push it into your neck. 2. Lightsabers are fantasy. a. they were the honorable and mysterious weapon of the Jedi. Difficult to use and master, they were like solid objects. No power sucking (absorb/dissipate energy) or decreases in power when they hit. 3. When an opponent does not have a saber, then they may: a. brawling parry. try to grab the opponet's hand or arm, and push the saber away. +15 to saber wielder. b. dodge. get out of the way. Jump back, run. modified as GM sees fit. I use these for simplicity and a tad bit of realism.
