By taking the weights given for various kinds of equipment from the GG6; Tramp Freighters, the following (incomplete) ship construction system can be used: Mass Modifier Types Length Very Small x0.25 Starfighters, Small Spaceships 0-20 Small x1 Light/Medium Freighters 21-50 Medium x10 Medium Transports 51-110 Large x100 Bulk Freighters, Corvettes 111-200 Very Large x1000 Frigates, Cruisers 201-700 Super Large x10000 Star Cruisers, Star Destroyers 701-2000 Giant x100000 Super Star Destroyers 2001+ Note: The borders between the various groups is fluid, meaning that a small frigate, such as the Lancer, can be placed in the Large category instead of the Very Large category. Scale Modifiers: Starfighter Scale x1 Capital Scale x2 Death Star Scale x100 Age Modifiers: Very Old Republic x10 to x20 Old Republic x2 to x9 Clone War x1.2 New Order x1 New Republic x0.8 Equipment weights is modified by the following formula: Weight x Mass Modifier x Scale Modifier x Age Modifier Powerplant is calculated by using the following formula: Sublight Engine: Rating x Length / 10 Hyperdrive: Length / Rating Shields: Rating, in pips x Length / 10 Hull: Rating, in pips x Length / 100 Ship's Systems: Length / 10 Sum Sum x Scale Modifier Life Support: (Crew+Passengers) / 10 Cargo: Cargo Capacity, In tons / 100 Energy Weapons: (Scale Modifier x Damage, in pips x Number of Mounts) / 10 Powerplant Rating Reserve Capacity: Powerplant Rating / 10 Final Powerplant Rating Powerplant Weight: Final Powerplant Rating x Age Modifier x Mass Modifier / 10 Note: The weight for the powerplant include the reactor core, fuel and all vital equipment necessary to run it, such as pumps, piping and isolation. Since i have placed the YT1300 in the Old Republic age, before the Clone Wars, its equipment have larger mass than what we are normally used in the rpg. The advantage by using this system is that you can mix equipment from various time periods, for example, by installing modern equipment in the Correllian Corvette or the YT1300 is it possible to drastically increase the available space. The things that need to be written and incorporated is more equipment, examples have been posted earlier by many people, including me, and figuring out the weapons needed for large ships, in other words how much weight a turbolaser battery takes and so on. Input is needed on this matter and my thoughts earlier on a starship construction system. Wing Commander Luna Urban Lundqvist
