System.. > -------------------------------------------- Volume II Number 10 By Tim Whittmerre Wruntash - A Rodian opened fire into a crowd of tourists on the observation deck of the Wruntash Political Center yesterday, killing one and wounding six others before shooting himself in the head with an antique slugthrower. Dozens of beings - Many of them galactic tourists - fled in panic toward the stairways and repulsorlifts as the gunman sprayed rounds around the large, windowed room that opens onto the observation deck. A baby and a toddler were knocked from their parents arms, and four corellian women were injured. "I've never seen so much blood in my life," said Sullustan businessman Sol Nyys, who said he saw the Rodian shoot himself and fall, his pistol dropping at his side. "The most scary part was when people started to panic." The man muttered something about Alderaan seconds before he began shooting at about 17:15 on the 86th floor observation deck of one of the galaxy's best known tourist sites, authorities said. Nyys, 38, said that he heard other witnesses say the gunman was asking tourists if they were from Alderaan. Authorities didn't know if there was any significance to his remarks. A Gotal in his 30s was killed, Police Inspector M'kall Culns said. An antique slug pistol was recovered at the scene. It's relatively easy to take today's news and make interesting stories for the players. (Real Article published in The Herald Times Vol120 No 241 Article by Tim Whitmere, all rights reserved.) About the Article: Players could have been at the political center when the gunman opened fire, or they could be involved in a deeper plot that they don't know about. (ie. radical terrorist group called Survivors of Alderaan that will stop at nothing to punish the galaxy for the destruction of Alderaan.) Make up your own ideas and let me know. (mail me privately not the group as a whole). Adam Sweeny >adsweeny@indiana.edu
