System.. -------------------------------------------- Volume II Number 9 SPORT- FreeFallin' A new generation sport similar to old style spring cord jumping or "Repulsar-Cord" (which had been popular during the rise of the Empire) has quickly exploded in the OuterRim Territories. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- As you might recall "Repulsar-Cord" involves a small one being repulsar lift with elastic cords made from Bantha-leather to tie at your ankles. You then ride the lift in upwards of 100 meters, to then jump off springing back toward the lift before hitting the surface. "Repulsar-Cord" died off with the decline of the Empire due to the huge enthusists & supporters among the StormTrooper Core. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Born from the reports of Wallex Blissex this new adrenaline-pumper sport has taken off so to speak... The sport, which is being called by the more catchy name- "FreeFall" is like "Repulsar-Cord", with an intense plumet toward the surface but that's the only similarity say enthusiasts. "FreeFall" modules have been created by Subsidiaries of the DeMongg Syndicate in the Minos Cluster & are being sold en masse, although with much parental resistance. The "FreeFall Mods" are a two piece sectional repulsar lift with a half sphere base & a hollow circle top lift. The Base & the Lift can be ridden & positioned almost anywhere, once the Base is stable you ride the Lift upwards to a whooping 200 meters at max. You then slip into the hollow Lift let go & drop in a partical shield toward the base. The Base generates an inner repulsar lift which kicks in about 25 meters up from the Base. The inner repulsar lift cushions you as you fall nearly 200 meters from the top Lift. Apparently the inner partical field protects you so you won't fall out of the "FreeFall Mod" as well as allowing the creative acrobatic competitions that have ranked number one in the GalaX'Cee Games in this new season. Parent reaction is one of concern at best, with no accidents of yet no lawsuits have been raised, but serval planets have banned the Mods in preperation for that "eventual" fatality... "FreeFall Mods" are being ordered faster than they can be manufactured & at this point DeMongg Syndicate creators are said to be looking to contract out to larger Corps like Soro Suub, but purists say: "Dis'll give it to da Man- jus like da 'Cord, spoil it-to the Core" Who's to say, fad or fanatic? This has been Arriot Fuches reporting for the Cross/Sector... ______________________________________________________________________ "Banned by the Empire & loving every minute of it!!" ********************************************************************** ______________________________________________________________________ GM Scoop... The idea that Wallex Blissex had is written up as a solution to escaping capture in the module "StarFall". Do any of the rest of you plan to write any news?? If you have questions mail me. -kevin- Modern technology owes ecology an apology.
