          Moff Lankin Defeated in 2 Hour Battle over Rintone

    The detachment of the Seventh Deneb Fleet sent to secure the indus-
trial world of Rintonne two months ago held off a counterattack by Moff
Lankin's combat fleet of five Imperial-Class Star Destroyers and Admiral
Gaen Drommel's Super-class Star Destroyer Guardian in a furiously fought
two hour battle above Rintonne.  Casualties were tremendous and all med
facilities on the planet and in the fleet are strained to maximum capac-
ity.
   According to sources close to NRN, a SpecOps team, apparently the
same one that infiltrated Rintonne and disabled the shield generators,
was responsible for providing detailed information on the attack.  This
is unconfirmed, but the source is of the highest caliber.
   The battle opened up with the comet Daiyutomo, on its regular orbit
passed some 97,000 kilometers from Rintonne itself.  A small force was
apparently hidden inside the comet, which blew apart.  However, the
Fleet was expecting this and was prepared for the eventuality.  The
suprise assault was crushed.
   Seconds after this occurred, Moff Lankin's Star Destroyers emerged
from hyperspace in a position estimated by New Republic tacticians, or
supplied by the SpecOps team.  One was immediately destroyed by the
determined assault of three B-Wing squadrons armed with heavy bombs.
Another was crippled by another B-wing and a Y-wing squadron, according
to Captain Dreyfus of an inbound Bulk Transport that viewed the battle.
"Those B-wings, they really hammered the smeg out of that first Destroye
r.  If it wasn't for that, I think the Fleet would have lost."
    The battle continued with losses on either side, but it was obvious
the Seventh Fleet had the Imperial forces on the run.  The Mon Calamari
Cruisers Victory and Freedom were destroyed in the battle, and the rest
of the fleet is undergoing repairs.  Casualties were the heaviest on the
flagship Clearwater.
    The First Battle Fleet of the New Republic Defensive Fleet arrived
in the Rintonne system shortly after the conclusion of the battle and
pursued the remanents of Moff Lankin's fleet.  They are expected to
call up reinforcements from the Seventh's remains within the week.

   The SpecOps team that liberated Rintonne and was insturmental in
ensuring the defeat of Moff Lankin will be embarking on a sector-wide
publicity tour within two weeks.  Public-relations officers say the tour
will be expected to last eleven standard months.
   "We're very excited to meet the people we have brought into the New
Republic Community," said Lymaan Lyme, a member of the SpecOps team.
"This is a great chance to see what the war is all about."
   "It may be a break from the action, but it's a welcome one," said
Qel-Sol, the other surviving member of the team.
   The SpecOps team lost two members in the battle for Lambda Sector.

This is a synopsis of the last adventure run and some of the background.
This is basically a bit more than what the public should know, but I wen
(t) overboard.  The characters also destroyed the Star Destroyer Kreiger
by dropping several mini proton torpedos from a Spacetrooper into
various power generators (the computer generator below the bridge and th
(e) main power core).  Now, I'm working to get set for the Darkstryder
campaign...mwahahahahahahah!!!
