I'm gonna give this to my characters when we start up again soon. I tried to balance it with the crappy hyperdrive, sensors, faulty Ship/droid connection, and cheezy weapons system, but what do you think? The Gibson Ray ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Craft: Ghtroc Industries class 720 freighter Type: Heavily Modified Light Freighter Scale: Starfighter Length: 35 Meters Skill: Space Transports: Ghtroc Freighter - - - - - Crew: 1 and PROFESR Passengers: 8 Cargo Capacity: 100 Metric Tons; 50 Cubic Meters Consumables: 2 Month - - - - - Hyperdrive Multiplier: x3 Hyperdrive Backup: x25 Nav Computer: Yes - - - - - Maneuverability: 2D Space: 4 Atmosphere: 330 move /// 950 kmh - - - - - Hull: 3D+2 Shields: 1D - - - - - Sensors: Passive: 10/0D Scan: 20/0D Search:35/0D Focus: 1/0D - - - - - Weapons: One Double Laser Cannon (starfigher scale) Fire Arc: Turret Crew: 1 Skill: Starship Gunnery Fire Control: 1D+2 Space Range: 1-3 /// 12 /// 25 Atmosphere Range: 100-300 /// 1.2 km /// 2.5 km Damage: 4D The Gibson Ray once was a stock Ghtroc freighter, but now is hardly recognizeable as such. Its flight control systems and engines have been modified to improve air-flow and to reduce drag, increasing the ship's speed efficiency. Also, the souped-up engines are complemented by a improved aero-poly surface, giving the freighter even greater speed. These upgrades took their toll, however in the other systems of the ship. The Weapons system has not been modified at all. The Hyperdrive is faulty and slow at best. The Sensors have a low range because the first owner sold the dish and installed an aluminum-epoxy dish of half the size. This, however was mainly remedied when the current owner's old friend came over to do some modifications. The need for better sensors, increased maneuverability, and magnified processing power to run the new flight control software caused the need for the PROFESR, the PROtocol Flight Enabled and Sensor-linked Robot. The PROFESR is a Degree-1 AND 2 droid, and has been installed INTO the Gibson Ray in such a way that the two are literally and figureatively inseparable. High-level programming, and Speech synthesis and comprehension capabilities have given the PROFESR a personality much like many protocol droids, though PROFESR is quite unrefined, moody, and only speaks basic fluently because of modifications necessary to the AA-1 verbobrain and TranLang III Communication module during installation. However, PROFESR can _understand_ Wookie and Sullustan. It will require some extensive modifications to alter these capabilities of the PROFESR further. The PROFESR communicates with the Gibson Ray's main computer banks and nav computer through a high speed data link. However, due to the rigors of space flight, this link has been known to be a little shaky, as is the PROFESER itself... -------------------------oooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo------------------ ---- the PROFESR --------------------------------------- Description: Main Unit is a Jury-rigged combination of an astro-mech droid and a 3PO protocol droid fixed in the innards of the Ghtroc Light Freighter the "Gibson Ray". Mobile unit is composed of the servo motors of the underside of an R2-astromech droid and is controlled by the main unit. The Main unit can control the Mobile Unit anywhere inside the Gibson Ray, and up to 10 meters away. Extensive modifications could increase this distance, but would be very difficult. The Mobile unit also has several Microphones, a turret mount stereo video sensor (Can't see straight down), a retractable fine-work grasper arm, a retractable heavy lifter arm, a small arc welder, and a small circle saw. The Main unit has several microphones, but the stereo camera mounted on the Mobile unit is the only way that the PROFESR can see. The Holo projector of the original astromech was cannibalized during modifications. Lastly, remember that the PROFESR can not operate any weapons systems under any context due to hard-wired programming. Height: .5m /// 1m with camera fully extended. Also, there are three hidden cargo holds in the rear of the cockpit. Each can hold one cubic meter of cargo. They are shielded, so 2d6 must be subtracted from any sensor's roll to detect their presence and 1d6 must be subtracted to find their contents. The Gibson Ray has a Remote Manipulator Arm for fine extra vehicular work. Anyone in a standard Vac-Suit can attatch themselves to the arm and do work outside the craft in zero-g with no penalties. (I usually use a -1d to all skills for zero-g work) The PROFESR's mobile unit can attatch itself to this arm and do extravehicular work as well. A weapon system could theoretically be attatched to the arm, but the PROFESR could not fire it due to hard-wired programming difficulties. COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please! Thanks! SteveO.
