It took me a while to figure out how to upload to Unix, so it's been a while. Actually I'm kind of dissapointed with it. In playtestting it didn't seem that much more powerful than an imperial walker, and it really can't stand up to one. i've also got some of my ancient Star Wars stuff I'm about to upload. Joe Wolff New Republic Assault Walker Even though throughout the rebellion and into the Republic the leaders of these groups have rather used speeders and Combat Assault Vehicles to support ground troops. At the Battle of Hoth Rebel airspeeders were pitted against walkers, and speeders came out on the losing end. Everyone could agree that walkers were powerful, just not that they were very usefull, and the rebellion couldn't afford them anyway. Even so times change, and not the Empire is poor while the Republic flourishes. Republic command decided that they were in need of a heavy combat vehicle (the closes thing they had were ancient heavy trackers!), so a company was chosen to build a prototype walker for the Republic. Physically the walker is much better armed and is faster than an Imperial walker, but it loses armor in doing this. They are not designed to fight other walkers in combat, but to intimidate and devestate the enemy. Also, the Republic chose not to create a scout class walker, leaving their other vehicles for missions it normally runs.
