Seeing as how it is still running, I always have source material to write about. I just want some opinions. I hope you don't mind the long post, Jae. You know what is real, and what is not. You know what is Light, and what is Dark. You know what is good, and what is evil. Now, forget all you know......or think you know. Adol Larynth, Jedi Knight a027280t@bcfreenet.seflin.lib.fl.us A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away......... STAR WARS THE DARKWOOD SERIES VOLUME ONE It is a period of civil war. With the destruction of the Death Star, a moon-size space station with enough power to destroy a planet, the Rebel Alliance has won its first major victory over the evil Galactic Empire. Nearly a year has passed since that fateful battle. The Rebels, now that the location of their main base is no longer a secret, search for a new haven to conduct all operations from. A fleet of the Empire's dreaded Star Destroyers searches the galaxy for the Rebellion's leaders, who are constantly pressed with avoiding capture. The Empire itself is reorganizing its troop and vessel deployments to make up for losses claimed with the Death Star. Each side is waiting for an opportune time to strike against the other. Life is good for the tramp freighter captains that dot the galaxy. Both the Alliance and the Empire need supplies ferried throughout their spheres of influence, and neither are willing to sacrifice starships and manpower needed elsewhere to do so. Independent operators are often called upon to fill this gap. At this time, anyone with a ship that can hold a respectable amount of cargo is able to find employment within explored space. Unfortunately, while life can be good for these people, it can also be depressingly short. Both sides in this war frequently raid the other's cargo shipments, and conflict is usually inevitable. Good weapons and skill with them are almost as important to a tramp freighter captain as a ship and the skill to pilot it. A young Rebel officer named Landon Darkwood has recently been sent to the backwater desert world of Tatooine (much to his dismay) on an assignment. What he doesn't know is that, once there, he will be attracted to the freedom of the tramp freighter captain to the extent that he becomes one himself, and in doing so, becomes one of the people that the Rebellion considers a hero......... Well, what do you all think? Comments appreciated!
